A MESSAGE TO REGGIE SMITH'S SUPPORTERS
Common Ground, Common Sense
Do you feel steamrolled by a revenge candidacy ginned up from outside our district? One candidate moved to District 62 solely to serve Ken Paxton… I grew up here to serve ALL of us.
Of course I know we won’t agree on everything, but I do share your passion for public education that I think drove you to support Reggie Smith in the first place. I, too, see the imminent threat from vouchers pushed by monied interests from Austin using their puppet candidate. Sadly, the governor will not stop this pressure and will spend freely to shove aside any fellow Republicans who stand in his way, just as he did to Reggie Smith – and to you!
So I invite you to work with me just this once to shore up public education in the one way you know my opponent never will, because she has very clearly said so: You can count on me never to support vouchers, because we locals understand the damage they would do to our precious public schools, teacher retirement funds, and to smaller communities like the majority of towns right here in District 62... I promise to listen to you and advocate for public education, and by doing so, protect our small-town future against outsiders who just don’t get us.
Please consider joining me, even if it’s only for this one issue or any others (perhaps several) on which we can find just a little common ground and common sense… I am not here to get sidetracked by divisive culture war issues that tear us apart. I'd rather focus on things we can all support. Your vote is your own business. Let’s work together for our communities, our kids, and our future!
